OHRID - A STORY WITH NO END

This is not a hoax but reality. It is an eternal story that no one has ever succeeded to tell since Ohrid can not be described.

You must feel it and everyone feels it in a different way.

The numerous monuments and ruins of ancient civilizations carry you over in other times, the temples make you forget who you are. All what is left is to admire and contemplate, thinking about what is to reveal in front of your eyes.

In Ohrid, the wisest and influential people over the centuries had one goal - to leave a trace of themselves.
And they succeeded.

Ohrid can not be humbled. But that is exactly what gives the impact. It will continue to live its life and to survive over the centuries. We all go there bigoted that this city will not impress us but when we leave a small piece of us remains there forever.

Led by this story, we organized a trip to Ohrid at the end of April and early May 2008. In this way we managed to combine our annual trips in the open air with days of relaxation and visualization.

With the organized excursions for our target community we get the so very necessary psychological support, socialization in the community and something extremely important - activation of the immune system and increase the level of the joyful emotions which underpin our health.

2007

Under the motto "Let us recharge our souls with positive emotions, new forces and sanctify our hearts by the heavenly light of the beautiful Bulgarian monasteries!" an excursion was organized from September 5th till September 9th 2007 following the road:

VARNA – КOTEL – BACHKOVO МONASTERY – КRUSTOVA GORA – RILA MONASTERY – VARNA

Here are some of the answers to questions from the survey made among participants in the excursion:

Question:
What made you take part in the organized tour and why?

I always feel good among my brothers and sisters in fate. Being with them and close to nature I recharge with strength, optimism and belief in good!
I surely benefit from those organized events. We help each other this way and the meaning of life becomes somehow more real.
Mariana Dobreva Petrova

We need to be among friends with similar problems. In the same environment the barriers between us easily fall down and communication gives us love and motivation for life.
Zhechka Dyakova Hristova

Why did I take part?
The need to change my everyday life, to be with people who are like me. Above all I am attracted by the wonderfully organized journeys and incredibly beautiful route. This fills me with a lot of positive energy for a long time and that is what each of us needs, especially people with problems.
Cenka Vulcheva Spasova

The events organized by the Patients organization of the people with cancer are always extremely helpful. There is always much laughter and warmth. Wonderful experiences are our best partner against depression.
Maria Spassova Dzhinova

Question:
How would you define the place of such events in your life and daily routine?

Being among people with similar fate, visiting holy places and monasteries turn my days in the divine nature into moments in paradise.
I forget about my pain, my problems and the difficult daily life.
Ruska Dimitrova Kutsarova

I hope, with all my heart, to always have power and opportunity to be together with the people from the patient organization of the people with cancer and their followers.
Among them I feel truly, humanly and with love taken care of.
The monasteries and the places we visited filled my soul with a lot of warmth, light and comfort.
Maria Ivanova Nikolova

When visiting the patient organizations in Omurtag, we planted together a "silver tree".
We wished ourselves health and long lasting collaboration!

2006

from September 1st till September 4th,
we organized a tour along the route:

Varna - Tryavna (Daskalova house, Kalincheva house and St. Archangel Michael Church) - Kmetovtzi (Fenereite) - Bozhentsi (visiting the Pop Donchova house, the school and the village) - Sokolski monastery - Etara - Gabrovo (taking a walk in the city, visiting the House of Humour and Satire, The house of memories [Dechkova house]) - Dryanovo - Dryanovo monastery (visiting the Bacho Kiro cave, Dryanovo - museum of Kolio Fitcheto, the churches St. Nikola and St. Troitsa, Lafchieva house) - Arbanasi - Kilifarevo (Kilifarevo monastery) - Varna.

A short poem was written during the trip by Nina Alexandrova from Omurtag.
It was dedicated to the participants in the trip - four generations of grandchildren, daughters, mothers and grandmothers who have hugged the mission of our patient organization and forgotten about the disease "cancer"!
